Cybertown's
Partyline is intended to assist with large scale events--City events, City-wide
events, Colony or Places events--and to facilitate use of Live Event Button(s)
as well as publish events by means of the City calendar and/or Places event
banners.
With this in mind and
due to technical requirements, Partyline can only approve the use of the Live
Event Button for events held in City Places or Colony Plazas which do not
conflict with COTM or other Live Events already in place.
This is the general
standard to which Partyline must adhere, although there may be exceptions which
will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Partyline consists of
representatives of CT's colonies and places. Representatives communicate any and
all pertinent event-related information via the Partyline group. Representative
groups should consist of no more than two upper staff event persons per
colony/place. Although representation is not mandatory, it helps to facilitate
communication between events persons in all other CT locations (often including
CLs and/or Places Chiefs).
Colony Leaders may request themselves or other staff be added, removed, or
replaced as Partyline representatives by means of email or inbox to the
Partyline Coordinator. Just make sure to state the nickname, email address, and
position of the person to be added. Place Chiefs should contact the Places Chief
Liaison or Liaison's Assistant via inbox or email with the same
information/request(s).
Partyline is composed of a Coordinator and its members (representatives). All
representatives within the Partyline group are members of equal status within
the group. Although ultimate responsibility rests with Partyline's Coordinator,
its members have equal input into any and all discussions. As Coordinators
resign, they are replaced by existing representatives within the Partyline group
and will be chosen, as appropriate, based on qualifications, experience, and
seniority within the group.
A person who is not
directly authorized by a colony or Place to propose an Event should contact the
Events staff of your Place/Colony to facilitate acceptance and posting to the
City Event calendar. All events proposed to Partyline by a person other then a
Partyline representative will be accepted or declined on a case-by-case basis.
If your Colony/Place has no Partyline representative or you are uncertain who
your representative is, feel free to contact the Partyline Coordinator with your
Event proposal.
If an Event references or makes use of an external website created by a resident
or staff member, this is permissible as long as the web site referred to is not
a commercial site and/or does not violate CT's UBP. The use of links to external
commercial websites for events must be agreed upon and approved by CT's Sponsor
IC, the founder, and IVN. Free sites that force advertising when used may be
allowed but will still be reviewed and allowed or declined accordingly.
The Live Event Button is available on a first come, first serve basis. However,
if multiple requests are sent in the Button will be given to the Event with
highest priority. Priority is as follows: City events, COTM Events, City-wide
events in a Colony or Place. Please note that when a special City Event occurs,
the Live Event Button will be made available for that Event whether or not the
Live Event Button has already been approved for another event.
Events may be requested as much as a month prior to their scheduled time and be
posted on the City calendar; however, requests more than one month in advance
will be declined and the submitting party asked to resubmit at the appropriate
time. All regular, repeating events should be requested by the beginning of the
current month. Partyline can not and will not assume responsibility for posting
events on the City calendar over one month in advance. Emergencies arise, life
changes, and events sometimes must be cancelled; if this happens, please simply
extend the courtesy of notifying Partyline so that your event can be removed
from the City calendar.
Special events, such as memorial services, & other events in a place other
than the places normally handled by Partyline, will be accepted upon approval or
proposal by a Colony Leader or a Places Chief. An individual may request such an
Event be added to the city calendar without approval of such authorized parties
if proof can be provided that such event is valid (online obituary, Death
Notice, etc.). CT nor CT's Partyline accepts responsibility for authenticity in
the case of such events, but Partyline will endeavor to verify the validity of
details for such a proposed "event".
Events such as birthdays, virtdays, milestone, and other type parties will not
be handled by Partyline, as our resources are too limited to handle these types
of requests. If one of these kinds of events were to be accepted, other people
could and would, rightfully, also make such requests. Therefore, Partyline must
reject all requests pertaining such events listings.
As with all events handled by CT's Partyline, the Live Event Button cannot
be provided for anywhere other than a City Place or Colony Plaza. It will not be
provided for private homes, clubs, hood chat areas, or a place in the Suburbs.
There is no limit to the number of events a Colony can having during any given
month. . .as many or as few as you like--it’s your decision. However, please be
aware that, contrary to regular events, Live Event requests can not overlap. Any
LE Requests which overlap a confirmed LE Event will be automatically rejected.
If your Colony/Place has the Live Event Button for an Event, be SURE there is
someone there, in the case of an emergency, to actually do an event (even if
different from the event originally approved) and/or handle those who "pop in"
during the time that the LE Button is scheduled. If such a situation arises at
least 24 hours before an event is to take place, simply notify Partyline of the
problem (at least 24 hours before the event is scheduled) if you'd like the LE
removed from the calendar.
Please note that the privilege of using the Live Event Button will only be
provided on a reasonable endeavors basis. Any and all LE requests should be made
at least one week, but no more than one month, before it is needed.
As a general rule, even if Partyline posts your event on the City calendar, it
is not automatically approved nor confirmed for a Live Event Button. All Live
Event Buttons must meet certain criteria, and Partyline will approve requests
based on these criteria--but acceptance is no guarantee; Partyline members do
not and can not handle the technical aspects of setting up the LE Buttons.
Therefore, all LEs must be confirmed by those who do handle the LE Button.
Please note that the use of the Live Event Button *cannot* be guaranteed simply
because the CT Partyline group has approved it; activation of the button is
accessible to a very limited number of people who simply can not be available
24/7.
The Live Event Button is available on a first come, first serve bases. However,
if multiple requests are sent in the Button will be given to the Event with
highest priority. Priority is as follows: City events, COTM Events, Citywide
events, single events. When a special City Event is planned, the Live Event
Button may be made available to that Event, whether or not the Live Event Button
has already been planned for another Event.
Repeating Events do not qualify for a Live Event Button except when these events
are part of a COTM line-up or special City event. Renaming a single Event in a
repeating event chain does not qualify it for Live Event Button unless the Event
has been significantly altered for each occurrence. In these cases, it is left
to the discretion of Partyline whether or not approval of the Live Event Button
meets set criteria.
By submitting an Event and/or banner request, submitter affirms that the
Event and/or any image, Event name, and/or implementation is/are an original
creation by them and/or their Hood/Place/Colony and does not infringe upon the
Copyright or Trademark (including Event names and/or images) of any other person
or group. If you have written permission to use such material, please email a
copy of the agreement to the Partyline coordinator for evaluation. Link-back
freeware material is not allowed. Should it be discovered that an individual has
submitted an Event or banner image that is the Copyright of another without
expressed permission, the Event will be rejected and/or removed from all
schedules and that person may be subject to other penalties per the UBP.
Banner Adverts are not generally available for members of the community to use
to publicize Cybertown events. They are designed for use by Sponsors and
Partners of IVN/Cybertown, Inc. and, as such, requests for these are not subject
to approval by the CTPartyline group. COTM Banner Requests must be submitted to
CT's Mayor for approval. Places Banner Requests may submitted via Partyline's
Banner Request Form and will be handled by CT's Chiefs Liaison. Any and all
other banner requests may be submitted to CT's Mayor who may request approval
from the Founder; however, this will only be implemented where resources are
available and where agreement has been reached with IVN, Sponsors, Cybertown and
the Community Technician. Therefore, the use of a banner cannot be guaranteed to
publicize any event.
Partyline is not an extension nor a part of City Council. Partyline may be
requested to provide, create, and/or promote City events, it is a group
responsible to the citizens of Cybertown and, ultimately, the Mayor and Founder.
